About ADBoS

The Angling Development Board of Scotland (ADBoS) is a dynamic, pro-active partnership between the Scottish Anglers National Association (SANA), the Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers (SFSA) and the Scottish Federation for Coarse Angling (SFCA).

All projects undertaken by ADBoS are undertaken in the general interest of all three associations and are considered to be of benefit to angling in Scotland across all three disciplines. ADBoS is supported by funding from sportscotland in recognition of the range of national programmes being developed and delivered, all of which meet targets set against a range of criteria set out in the ‘Coaching Scotland’ sportscotland framework.

Activities which are currently being undertaken include;

  • Annual delivery and maintenance of the UKCC in Angling at Levels 1 and 2
  • The standardisation and implementation of the Angling Coach License process
  • Developing a co-ordinated and supportive CPD programme for existing coaches
  • Delivering the Club Angling grassroots angling development programme
  • Delivering the National Progression Award for Secondary School students at SCQF Level 3 and 4
  • Working in partnership with local Community Sport Hubs (CSHs)
  • Working in partnership with local Authority Regional Sporting Partnerships
  • Working in partnership with Further Education Colleges on developing programme delivery materials
  • Assisting Angling Clubs with membership delivery activities and club development opportunities
